Mortal Kombat: Armageddon offers two modes of play. In the single-player game, players battle their way through the story mode, taking on special challenges each time. The story mode includes nine separate stages, three of which are part of the single player campaign. Each stage contains three different stages that must be completed in order to advance the story. For the second mode, players fight as one of five characters. These characters include Reptile, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Mileena, and Shao Kahn. Players can choose to take on either the Scorpion or Mileena character for the first time in the game. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon

Mortal Kombat is a fighting game series created by NetherRealm Studios and consists of five games, the first being the original release Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. These games follow in the tradition of their predecessors, which feature different weapons for each character, supernatural powers, and is widely considered as one of the first three “survival” video games to be made. The games were first released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994, then later ported to the PlayStation and PC. Since then, several sequels have been created and brought to various platforms. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is scheduled to release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon features a new story and comes with new fighting moves and the ability to play as characters from the Mortal Kombat universe.

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon offers the same classic fighting mechanics of previous games. To defeat an opponent, a player must strike them with a single hit from their designated weapon. To continue, the character must knock their opponent down. Once the opponent hits the ground, they can grab onto anything. These things include the opponent’s leg, or any of their bodies, their hands, or their feet. These items will drain the life out of the opponent, allowing the player to keep attacking. If the life meter becomes depleted, the character will lose the fight.
